It took me a long while when I first did this “About” page. Each time I thought of approaching it, it felt intimidating. I wasn’t sure why, but one thing I did know is that putting my life in a “nutshell” statement seemed virtually impossible to do~ so I did nothing. Anyone who knows me knows I don’t tend to express in “nutshells”~ but rather in stories that are typically very intense and involved and are not usually very linear in nature~ with lots of side roads that eventually all tie together~ but  the listener really  has to hang in there to see it all come together! I believe you may notice this in some of my writings~ maybe even this one (:

Another thing about me is that I have a strong belief that my identity is first spiritual, and everything else stems from that~ (ie: roles I have had, places I have been, things I have done etc.). And although there are plenty of interesting things I could tell~ they are not who I am. And as far as “credentials” go, the Lord has shown me very clearly that He has no interest in those at all. In fact, God had me literally get rid of all my credentials from this world before He brought my husband and me into this ministry (Crying Rocks Ministries). The Lord told me during that time: “You are just Jodey”~ and reminded me that He has always used me to speak His truth no matter what role I was in, no matter where He had me, and no matter what He had me doing.

So I am not a “nutshell” person, but God has made me a “bottom-line” person in a major way. My identity is in Him and Him alone. I am a child of~ and belong to the one true God~ the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He saved me by the blood of His precious and glorious Son Jesus Christ. Beyond being saved, God continued to pursue my heart to become a true follower of Jesus~ in that process He won my heart, giving me a passionate desire to dwell with Him and learn to trust Him with all of my heart. In living with Him~ I was living in the continual outpouring of His love. My  heart became more and more vulnerable and pliable, and could not help but fall in  love with God and Jesus as well. God still had to persistently subdue my fleshly ways~ humbling me to a place of surrender so that I would do His will in all things. It became clear, that only in staying  humbled under His mighty hand of love and protection could He use my life by living through me. And because He now is my life, I in greater and greater measure  feel loved, grateful, and free. I have found that there is nothing ordinary about living in a close, intimate relationship with God, and I am overjoyed in experiencing this amazing and extraordinary life. And all I have to do is watch Him work as I rest securely in His care and loving arms~ and be blessed by seeing His miraculous ways each and every day.  These are the most important things I can tell you about myself. Thank you for listening~

In His Love,

Jodey Grovenburg

“When He (Jesus) came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:

“Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!”

“Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!

“I tell you,” He replied, “if they keep quiet, the rocks will cry out”

“As He approached Jerusalem and saw the city, He wept over it and said, ‘if you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace- but now it is hidden from your eyes’. (Luke 19:37-42)

“Then He entered the temple area and began driving out those who were selling. ‘It is written’, he said to them, ‘My house will be a house of prayer; but you have made it a den of robbers’ (Luke 19:45-46).

When the Lord laid this ministry on my heart back in April of 2012, the above foundational verses were placed upon my heart as well. The heart of Jesus is revealed so beautifully and powerfully in these verses~ what a touching thing it has been to be blessed with such verses for this ministry. Since April when the Lord spoke to me about this ministry, He has been preparing us to follow Him no matter where He leads (knowing very little about where that might be!)…and helping my husband and me to fully surrender to Him to use us as He will.

Early in my seeking I asked the Lord to reveal what the purpose of the ministry is. He said that this ministry’s mission is freedom from bondage in the church. His words were powerful and penetrating~ humbling me greatly before Him. I know that this is His ministry and that our lives are not our own. Through the truth, love, and strength of God, I am His Crying Rock. It has become clear that He is using this ministry to  raise up Crying Rocks throughout the body of Christ to boldly proclaim the name of Jesus~ and to expose  the strongholds that the enemy has on God’s church.

The church (that is~ the body of Christ) belongs to God and exists only because of Jesus Christ. Many church leaders have been deceived, and pride is blinding them from seeing the tactics of the enemy they have succumbed to. The enemy is attempting to conquer within. A large number of shepherds of our local church are not protecting, taking care of and feeding His sheep. But Satan has been overcome by our Almighty God- He will not have this. To God be the Glory forever and ever as He frees His church from the grip of the evil one.

This website is part of Crying Rocks Ministries. It is one of the ways the Lord uses to speak truth about who He really is, and the truth about what His Word really says. In addition, it is designed to encourage and build up disciples to go well beyond believing- to following Jesus at any cost. We must be free from bondage in our own lives, so that we are freed up and unimpeded to live life with God as He has purposed for us.

Another way God is using Crying Rocks Ministries to bring freedom from bondage in the body of Christ is through the current radio program: “Freedom Calls”. In this, the Lord is calling out to all listeners~ to all ears that hear~ that they may be made free- not just saved, but truly free on the inside~ free to experience all that God has done for us through His Son Jesus Christ, and to be used by Him for His good and mighty purposes.

If we allow God to speak truth into our hearts and get all that is hidden into the light, we will experience freedom and peace beyond anything we have ever known:

“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32).
